Black Widow Is The Most Exciting Movie Coming From MCU Phase Four

With 12 movies anticipated to be released in phase four of the MCU, there is much to be excited about. But one movie should have Marvel fandom running to theaters opening night, popcorn in hand. Black Widow (2021).

With the sacrificial death of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame (2019), moviegoers and MCU fans were admittedly perplexed with the knowledge of a planned solo Black Widow movie still to come. When it was announced that the Black Widow movie would be set prior to Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and feature a full backstory for Natasha Romanov, everyone let out a collective sigh of relief, while true Black Widow fans were jumping for joy.

Black Widow has been a strong and constant presence since her appearance in Iron Man 2 (2010), but she has also been a character filled with mystery and unanswered questions. Hints of her backstory are sprinkled throughout the Marvel films, but it’s never fully explained who Black Widow really is. This is what should make Black Widow the most exciting and anticipated movie of the MCU phase four, because viewers are dying for some answers, and the trailers promise we’re going to get them.

Fans know from former MCU movies Black Widow is a force to be reckoned with despite not possessing official superhero powers, but we’ve all often wondered how it is she’s managed to survive amidst cybernetic aliens, Ultron, and even her own team at times. The former KGB operative was trained by the very government now hunting her down, and we’ll get a chance to see just how that training has made Black Widow who she is, along with people from her past that shaped her future. Answers will finally be given, and a look into Black Widow’s past will better help fans understand how this KGB trained agent turned Avenger, has survived for so long.

The movie promises to be an action-packed spy thriller, still in the vein of a typical Marvel movie with explosions and unbelievable action, but there’s one thing this movie will have to set it above the rest… Darrin Prescott. The stunt coordinator known for the John Wick films (2014-2019) and Black Panther (2018) is listed as the stunt coordinator for Black Widow, which has to have action film fans screaming. Realistic and gritty fight scenes coordinated with precision and believability is what Prescott is known for, and exactly what a character like Black Widow deserves.

Trailers for the film have already shown what MCU fans can anticipate: a strong female lead, non-stop action, and an ensemble cast and villain fans can get behind. With the promise of answers and the expertise acclaimed stunt coordinator Darrin Prescott brings, Black Widow is the most exciting movie to come from MCU phase four.
